Our Story

Our story starts not with the opening of our first restaurant, it started way before with the passion we have for food. This was our drive to open the doors of our first restaurant in 1972 in Pikeville’s, North Carolina named “Bucks Restaurant” and launched by late Aref Alawar. 

That was just the beginning, afterwards, we opened several restaurants across Wayne County, Triangle Restaurant, Rudy’s One, Rudy’s Two, Willmas Grill, Philly Stake, Central Lunch & then Dee’s Diner. We bring over 100 years of experience & knowledge in food business and this clearly defines our passion to what we do. We don’t make food to full us up but to satisfy our bud taste.

We crossed a long way since then and thanks to the support of our community, and our loyal locals who made our journey prosperous and more popular. A lot has changed since 1972 but our passion for food has grown bigger and bigger and the new generation is following the footprint of our successors.

We are committed to continue that tradition to offer and serve our happy customers and always strive to make it the favorite place in town. At Dee’s Diner, not only we offer good food but a place to relax and enjoy the company of family and friends and to restore energy. 

All our foods are prepared freshly, we do not use additives or artificial coloring and we support the local community. We are committed to keep on delivering a unique dining experience. We appreciate your visit and hope you had good experience and made some new memories.
